Faulkner Ann

  • .5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups unbleached all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

  • We were out of brown sugar.
  • So I just used a cuss-load of white sugar.
  • Plus we sprinkled more on top for visual appeal.
  • And I pressed them with a fancy jar lid for the design.
  • I got spacey like a space bar and forgot the baking powder and the vanilla.
  • So after I rolled everything in a ball, I sprinkled the baking powder and vanilla in.
  • Then we flattened them with a canteen.
  • And used a coffee mug as a cookie cutter.
  • Baked them for 13 minutes.
  • Fingers-crossed they turned out ok.

  • "Tomorrow is like a ball of cookie dough. And we will take cookie cutters and make it into cookies!"

  • You should've seen this girl in the kitchen tonight. She was a rockin' and a rollin' rockin' and a reelin' Faulkner Ann fa fa fa Faulkner Annnnn. She fed seven thousand people crepes. No exaggeration. People came from all the lands to see these whole wheat crepes. Savory apple-cheese-mixed greens and sweet nutella-apple ones for dessert. I hope her poly-sci debate does not suffer for being the real bread winner tonight.
